Life, I believe is a journey not to our grave but somewhere divinely beautiful,

Somewhere some might call destiny or our fate.

Life, a vast ocean filled with infinite possibilities.

A mystery in itself with so many paths, one could take towards his destiny.

Finding the right direction in life is far from simple and even more frightening to embark on.

I do not know any man’s destiny but my own,

However, I can help point you in the right direction towards finding it.

It took me years to find the right direction in life, and for you to find yours sooner will save you years of stress, heartache, resources, and pain.

It will save you time, for I believe is the greatest asset we have in life.

1: Know Where You Are In Life

Knowing where you are in life will tell you how far you have come, accepting that reality will show you how well you have arrived.

The journey of our life started right from our mother’s womb.

From the moment we were conceived our journey had already begun and where we are right now in life our journey has brought us here.

Every decision, action, and choice has directly or indirectly brought us to where we are now in life.

To know where you are going or where you are in life, you must first know where you are coming from.

Life happens to us all and we all have where we are coming from.

Some from a failed dream or career, some from failed marriage or relationship,

Some from a broken home, or a place of making wrong decisions.

Where ever it is we are coming from.

We can’t go back to the past and start a new beginning, but can start from here a new beginning.

I know where I am presently in life at the time of writing this article.

I’m coming from a place of failure and disappointment, a failed dream as a basketball player, hurt and betrayed by very close friends and families.

I’m a man with a broken life and a broken mind, accepting this reality made it clear where I am now in life.

2: Know Where You Are Going And Why

Life eventually will lead us somewhere, but it’s our life, we should be the ones to lead it.

Wherever life is taking you, you have an influence on its final destination.

Take it from someone who has spent decades walking aimlessly through life,

A life on autopilot will eventually end in regret and unfulfillment.

Life wouldn’t be a journey if there was no set destination.

Believe me, our destiny is ever marching in our direction and we might not always know where we are going, take it from someone that still doesn’t know where he’s going.

All roads in life lead somewhere,

The question is where do we want to go with our lives? For we do not know what tomorrow holds for us.

I may not fully know where I’m going but I know the version of me that I want to arrive there and why.

If the old version of me had become the president, I probably would have started World War Ⅲ.

if the old version of me was in the NBA my pride would have been enough to fill a theatre in Vegas.

The journey of life is not about crossing the finish line, believe me, everyone will cross that line,

for me, it is the kind of person that did.

It’s how well we cross that line not how long it took us to.

The journey of life I believe is happiness and the journey of happiness I believe is life.

In the end, we all want to die knowing too well we lived.

“The steps you take don’t have to be big, they just need to take you in the right direction.” -Jemma Simmons

We are where we are in life either for a reason or a season or a lesson, the choices and actions we take can reroute us on a path that leads to the fulfillment of our destiny.

I believe our destiny is already revealing itself and buried within our subconsciousness are glimpses of who we truly are.

Our destiny will come, regardless of our race, age, or face, but it will stay only with the best version of ourselves.

No child starts running without first learning to walk, it is easier to climb the second level of a ladder from the first level.

Our destiny is a lot closer and ever marching in our direction, and all we have to do is take steps towards it.

These steps could simply be to enroll for that exam/course, try out a different career,

Or simply let go of whatever is holding us back.

Knowing where I am in life, from where I have been, and where am going, from where I am,

I truly believe the smallest steps hold the key to the doors of our destiny.
